"Few moments in the history of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards have brought together this many iconic women from across generations of collegiate athletics," said Chris Voelz, Executive Director of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards. "As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we're honored to welcome these remarkable alumnae to New York to celebrate their shared legacy and to inspire the Class of 2026 as they begin their own place in CWSA history."
Since its founding in 1976, the Collegiate Women Sports Awards has recognized the nation's most accomplished women student-athletes for excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and community service. First presented in 1977 as the Broderick Cup, later renamed the Honda-Broderick Cup, and now known as the Honda Cup, the award remains one of the highest honors in women's collegiate athletics, recognizing the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.
The 2026 celebration also marks 40 years of partnership with Honda, whose unwavering support has helped elevate women's collegiate athletics nationwide. Since 1986, Honda has contributed more than $3.4 million in institutional grants benefiting women's athletics programs across the country.
