Parker Keeler, a junior from Newberry College, has been named a finalist in field hockey for the DII Honda Athlete of the Year, as announced today by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) presented by Honda.
The announcement comes during a landmark moment for the organization, as the CWSA celebrates its 50th anniversary during the 2025–26 collegiate athletics season. Keeler is now among 11 elite finalists for this prestigious award, which recognizes the top NCAA Division II athletes across various sports. The DII Honda Athlete of the Year will be selected by senior women administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools and will be honored during a live broadcast on CBS Sports Network on Monday, July 27th, at 7:00 pm ET, in New York City.
Keeler, hailing from Bridgeville, Del., was most recently named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) DII Player of the Year and earned NFHCA First Team All-America honors. Additionally, the forward delivered a standout 2025 season for the Wolves, earning Synapse Sports First Team All-America honors, Synapse Sports National Offensive Player of the Year, NFHCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year, and South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Offensive Player of the Year recognition. She led the Wolves to the 2025 NCAA Division II national championship title game, finishing runner-up, while also capturing the SAC regular-season and tournament titles.
Keeler paced the nation in total points (58), assists (20), and assists per game (0.95), while ranking among the top three nationally in goals, goals per game, and points per game. She recorded points in 15 of 21 contests, earned NCAA and SAC All-Tournament Team honors, and was named SAC Player of the Week three times.
A three-time First Team All-SAC selection, Keeler is Newberry’s career leader in assists (30) and ranks second in points (108), goals (39), and game-winning goals (11). Her seven game-winning goals in 2025 set a single-season program record, helping fuel a 49–9 overall record and two SAC regular-season championships during her collegiate career.
Now in its 50th year, the CWSA continues to honor the nation’s top female collegiate athletes for excellence in athletics, leadership, academics, and community service. Since partnering with Honda in 1986, the program has provided more than $3.4 million in institutional grants, strengthening and advancing women’s athletics programs nationwide.
