Kaley McIntyre, a junior from New York University (NYU), was named the DIII Honda Athlete of the Year finalist for Swimming & Diving for the second season in a row as announced today by Executive Director Chris Voelz of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) presented by Honda.

McIntyre is now one of 11 finalists for the prestigious DIII Honda Athlete of the Year. This will be voted on at the end of the academic year by national balloting among 1,000 NCAA member schools as part of the CWSA program, now in its 49th year.

“I am very honored to be recognized as a finalist for this important award in women’s sports,” said McIntyre. “I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has been with me on my journey as a swimmer. Thank you to my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for supporting me every step of the way. I am incredibly proud of everything my team and my teammates have accomplished in the past year, inspiring me with their own hard work and determination to succeed. I would also like to thank the CWSA and Honda for supporting women’s sports and promoting excellence in women’s athletics across divisions. I am incredibly honored to be a small part of a very incredible community of athletes.”

McIntyre, hailing from Novato, Calif., was most recently named the DIII College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Swimmer of the Year for the second straight year, following an extraordinary season of record-breaking performances.

The NYU junior once again showcased her dominance at the 2025 NCAA DIII Championships, capturing individual titles in the 50, 100, and 200 Freestyle events. She set new NCAA DIII records in the 50 and 100 Free, cementing her place in the history books. McIntyre is now a three-time national champion in both the 50 Free and 200 Free, leading the Violets to their best-ever team finish at the NCAA DIII Championships as they secured a runner-up spot.

McIntyre boasts an impressive 20 First Team All-American honors over her career.

She was also named the 2025 University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimmer of the Year for the second consecutive season. At the 2025 UAA Championships, McIntyre captured seven events, including the 100 Free title, breaking the DIII record in both the preliminary and final rounds, further solidifying her status as one of the top swimmers in the nation.

All Honda Sport Award finalists from DIII and DII will vie for the prestigious 2025 Honda Athlete of the Year award in their respective divisions, presented on a live telecast on CBS Sports Network on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 7 PM ET, from its new home in New York City.

The Honda Award finalists are recognized in 11 DIII and DII NCAA-sanctioned sports; cross country, basketball, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, and track & field.
