Kate Faasse from the University of North Carolina, Duke University’s Maggie Graham, Caiyah Hanks of Wake Forest University and Taylor Huff from Florida State University have been announced as the four finalists for the Class of 2025 Honda Sport Award for Soccer, as revealed today by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA).

The Honda Sport Award has been presented annually by the CWSA for the past 49 years, recognizing the top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports and symbolizing “the best of the best in collegiate athletics.” The recipient of the sport award will become a finalist for the prestigious Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the 2025 Honda Cup, which will be presented during the live broadcast of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Presented by Honda on CBS Sports Network in June.

The women’s soccer finalists by a panel of experts and coaches from the United Soccer Coaches. The Honda Sport award winner for soccer will be announced later this week after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools. Each NCAA member institution has a vote. 

Faasse, a junior forward hailing from Phoenix, Ariz., had a standout 2024 season, earning United Soccer Coaches First Team All-America honors and recognition as a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist. She led UNC to the 2024 NCAA Championship title while also being named to the United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region, All-ACC First Team, and ACC All-Tournament Team.

Graham, a midfielder from Atlanta, Ga., delivered an exceptional 2024 season, earning United Soccer Coaches First Team All-America honors and recognition as a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist. Named the 2024 ACC Midfielder of the Year, the graduate student also secured spots on the United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region and All-ACC First Team.

Hanks made history in 2024 as Wake Forest's first-ever MAC Hermann Trophy finalist while earning United Soccer Coaches First Team All-America honors. The junior forward from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, led her squad to its first-ever National Championship title game appearance, finishing as the runner-up. Hanks also received All-ACC First Team honors after earning Second Team accolades in 2023.

Huff, a senior midfielder from Mansfield, Ohio, capped an impressive 2024 season by earning United Soccer Coaches First Team All-America honors, following her Second Team selection in 2023. A MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, Huff was named the ACC Tournament MVP after leading Florida State to the ACC Championship title.

The CWSA, now in its 49th year, celebrates the nation’s top NCAA women athletes for their excellence in athletics, leadership, academics, and community service.
