Bio
The winner of the 2022 Honda Cup is South Carolina basketball standout Aliyah Boston, the first Honda Cup winner coached by another Cup winner, Dawn Staley, the 1991 recipient. Aliyah helped lead the Gamecocks to the 2022 NCAA championship during her junior season while earning Women’s Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors. During her collegiate career, she became the first four-time winner of the Lisa Leslie Award as the nation’s top center, while also earning two Naismith Defensive Player of the Year awards, two SEC Player of the Year honors, and four SEC Defensive Player of the Year awards. The number one pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, Aliyah earned Rookie of the Year honors and now plays for the Indiana Fever alongside two-time Honda Cup winner Caitlin Clark.
